Hiv and Your Body -training

Hiv-Nordic first Hiv and Your Body-training took place on the 5-6 of June, 2010 in Stockholm. Since then it has yearly been a training after every new part. Hiv and Your Body is provided as a service to medicine sponsored by Gilead Sciences Nordic.

Over 30 participants joined the first weekend from all the Nordic countries to learn new things, and to enjoy a warm as well as interactive environment.

The objective of the training was is to enhance the dialogue between people living with hiv and healthcare professionals through an increased involvement of patient groups and educators. Even though healthcare professionals will always be the ones responsible for the treatment, this project can lead to a greater working partnership between clinicians and informed PLWH's, helping them to better manage their hiv - and also their over health.

The training has seens then consisted of the following topics:

- HIV and your kidney

- HIV and your body shape

- HIV and your bone

- HIV and your heart

- HIV and your liver

- HIV and your brain

- HIV and your sexlife

- HIV and your mental health

The newly trained educators have now taken the task to pass the information to their peers in the Nordic countries and everybody is looking forward to the results that it will bring.
